History of JIC-Magic USA / ZMS Inc.
Through humble beginnings in 1988, JIC Magic began tuning street vehicles in Tokyo, Japan. Through rigorous testing and development many of those street vehicles turned up on race tracks and in major events. JIC Magic then began development for higher performance race cars that competed in races such as JGTC, All Japan Grand Touring Championship and also entered the BPR International GT Endurance Championship, competing for 3 years each. JIC Magic accomplished many accolades in the motorsports scene by breaking several records proving to the racing world that they were a force to be reckoned with. Several notable records were the record for top speed in a production based street car of 315 kilometer per hour and holding the ¼ mile record for speed and time in between the years of 1993 to 1996. JIC Magic also proved to be a dominant force against factory teams such as McLaren, Nissan, Ferrari, Toyota, and Mazda without any major factory backing. ZMS INC. quickly rose through the ranks as they participated in the N-1 endurance races, Le Mans races, and many GT Series. After opening the USA headquarters, ZMS INC. competed in several major races such as Daytona 24hour, Canada Challenge Cup, and Professional Sports Car Races. Those races were a proving ground for JIC Magic as they won both of the Canada Challenge cups that they entered in 1997. ZMS INC. began to gain a reputation of becoming a top tuner for Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, and Honda. Around this time, ZMS INC. developed a Toyota Altezza N-1 race car and a Honda Civic N-1 race car that set the standard for high performance vehicles in the race circuit. In 2004 when drifting started to grow in the USA JIC began competing in professional drifting. This resulted in what is still one of the most well known drift cars the JIC-Magic 993 GT2 Drift Porsche and JIC-Magic Silvia S15. JIC was a pioneer in the US drifting scene and helped grow the sport to what it is today. While still competing in Formula D the S15 drift car and 993 drift car were doing double duty as time attack machines. Despite being purpose built drift cars the 993 and S15 set many course records while competing in Redline Time Attack, the times set by these cars are still very well respected times. Competing at the top level in US time attack JIC once again proved that they had what it takes to raise the bar and set new standards in track performance.
ZMS INC. is also a proud company that aggressively supports Time Attacks and Drifting events to demonstrate the vast capabilities of JIC products. From the nimble Honda Civic that competed in Japan's Touring Races to the high horsepower Porsche 996 street/time attack machine, ZMS INC. has been able to cover the wide range of vehicles. Currently, ZMS INC. has a large fleet of racing vehicles for all types of motorsports ranging from Drag Racing, Drifting, and Time Attacks.
