Hankook Tires / JIC USA break records at the Super Street Time Attack!
|
The Hankook Tire / JIC USA racing team has just come in with a rewarding outing at the Buttonwillow Raceway in California. Jumping into the driver seat of the S15 is none other than our amazing driver, Tyler McQuarrie. Tyler was looking forward to a day of high pace racing with a grid full of high echelon racing teams such as Mine's, Zero Sports, XS Engineering, and many more high ranked time attack teams. Throughout the day, the lap times were getting shorter and shorter for the Hankook Tires / JIC Nissan S15. For showtime, the Nissan S15 clocked in a record setting lap time for the team, course, and for an FR chassis of 1:51.260. That lap time shattered the previously held record by our own team and even the last time attack that was held at Buttonwillow by the GM backed Cobalt. As the cars came in after their hot laps, the winner of the event was a Porsche 996 Cup car, followed by XS Engineering's R32 and Zero Sports' STi. To be in company of those companies is quite an honor and Tyler, our team, and the Nissan S15 truly proved that a drift car can perform really well at a time attack. JIC USA could have not pulled off this great time attack without the help from our supporters: Hankook Tires USA (http://www.hankooktiresusa.com), Tomei Powered Inc, Vertex T&E, Stoptech, Hawk Brake Pads, Works Bell, and our fans.
