(Downey, CA) Formula Drift, based out of Long Beach, CA, held a kick off party that brought many drivers, teams, and media together to mingle and find out what the latest news was in the drifting world. This party was hosted by Hankook Tires among other major sponsors of the series.  Kenji Yamanaka and Tyler McQuarrie made their entrance in the beginning of the event with many people buzzing about how they will do this season. In addition to their appearances, the Hankook Tire / JIC USA Porsche 993 GT2 Turbo drift car was proudly displayed on the busy Pine Ave in Downtown Long Beach. This gave the public that walked and drove by a look at what drifting has evolved to. This gave more attention to the up coming event this weekend in downtown long beach.
