With so many events coming close to the end of the racing season, the Hankook Tires / JIC USA racing team has had their hands full with the Nissan S15 doing double duties with Time Attacks and Drifting. This past weekend, the mighty Nissan S15 was called upon to do some more damage at the Super Street Time Attack at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA. The last Super Street Time Attack that the S15 was at, the team was able to beat out some notable competitors and at this event, many more came out for the challenge. The Hankook Tires / JIC USA time attack team was ready to put up a fight.
On day one of practice, the Nissan S15 was going through the laps with every session pitting in for an alignment adjustment. Tires, suspension alignment, and tire pressure was a key point in helping the S15 conqueror the 2.52 mile racecourse. Returning to the cockpit of the S15 was Tyler McQuarrie who has helped the Hankook Tire / JIC USA team win in several other Time Attacks. During the practice laps his key element in gaining faster lap times was his entry speed and braking points. After day one, the team felt confident that the next day would be an exciting one.
Day 2 was a bit of a blur with the team surrounded by numerous other vehicles for other racing series. The time attack groups were put along with the other cars with a quite congested track but that didn't stop Tyler from passing most of the cars on track. The S15 zipped through the corners and flew by the straight aways allowing bringing the fastest lap time of the Time Attack series. The fastest lap time was a 1:43.55 which kept the Hankook Tire / JIC USA Nissan Silvia still on top of the Time Attack food chain. JIC USA would like to thank our sponsors that have helped us stay above the rest: Hankook Tires (http://www.hankooktireusa.com), Exedy Clutches, Vertex T&E, Stoptech Brakes, Tomei Powered, and 5th Dimension Signworks.
